App Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 08/10/2026

Building free payments infrastructure.

These terms apply to WageTab, operated by Sirius Analytics Pty Ltd (t/as WageTab, ABN 74 618 778 699), of 6/1 Raglan Street, Manly NSW 2095.

WageTab is a ledger. It records tabs and invoices between businesses and the people who work for them, nets them off each week, and processes the payments needed to settle what’s left. WageTab is not a credit product: no interest, no credit checks, no lending. WageTab finances nothing — every amount recorded is owed by one member to another.

Using WageTab to raise and accept tabs, send and approve invoices, and settle each week is free. Some optional extras for businesses cost money; they’re listed in section P, and you only pay for them if you choose them in the app.

How this document works. There’s one section everyone reads, one for every business, and one for each role. Many people hold more than one role — a café owner might sell on tabs, give staff Employer Benefit Cards, and use one themselves. Every section that matches what you do applies to you.

Who’s who

  • Member — anyone registered on WageTab: a business, or a person.
  • Seller — a business that accepts tabs at its counter, or sends invoices.
  • Buyer — whoever owes for a tab or an invoice.
  • Employer — a business that gives staff an Employer Benefit Card. An employer isn’t a lender; it settles its staff’s tabs and recovers them through its own payroll.
  • Card holder — a person with a WageTab card, usually a wage earner.

Key terms

  • Tab — a purchase recorded on WageTab instead of paid for with cash or card at the time. The goods are the buyer’s straight away; the payment follows in the weekly settlement.
  • Invoice — a bill between two businesses, created in the app and approved in person by the buyer.
  • Settlement week — Monday to Sunday, Sydney time.
  • Netting — combining everything a member owes and is owed in a settlement and offsetting the two, so only the difference is paid. See section S.
  • Weekly statement — the record of a business’s settlement for one week. It is not a tax invoice.
  • Payment standing — a score showing how reliably a business pays its settlements.

SECTION G — GENERAL (everyone)

G1. Your account

You register with your mobile number, which is how WageTab identifies you. You choose a PIN that opens the app. Keep it to yourself — anyone with your phone and your PIN can use your account.

G2. PINs and the secret word

  • Your PIN opens the app, and confirms a tab or an invoice. The same PIN does both.
  • A seller’s secret word appears on the buyer’s phone after the seller enters their PIN. The seller checks it’s theirs before tapping Done. If it isn’t, the seller annuls the tab — the word is how a seller knows the app in front of them is real.
  • Wrong PINs are limited. Opening the app: five tries, then a five-minute wait. At a counter: three tries, then a five-minute wait.

G3. Privacy

  • Employers see what each card holder has spent in total, never their individual purchases.
  • Sellers are not told who a customer works for. At the counter they see the employer’s postcode and payment standing only.
  • On a seller’s copy of a tab, the buyer’s ABN is shown as its last four digits — except on a Company Tab Card tab of $1,000 or more, where the full ABN is shown because a tax invoice requires it.
  • If a business doesn’t pay its settlement, the sellers it owes are told who it is and how much of their payment is affected. By then it’s money already owed to them.
  • Business verification uses a photo ID. The image is deleted once checked; WageTab keeps the name, the document type and the date it was checked.

G4. Notifications

WageTab may notify you in the app and by push notification about your settlement, your rewards and the extras you’ve bought.

G5. Ending your use

You can stop using WageTab at any time. Ending doesn’t cancel anything already owed: tabs and invoices already recorded are settled as normal.

G6. Electronic acceptance

You accept these terms when you register, and again each time you approve a tab or an invoice with your PIN. Electronic acceptance has the same force as a signature under the Electronic Transactions Act 2000 (NSW).

G7. Changes

If these terms change, the app asks you to accept the new version before you continue.

G8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, and the courts of New South Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

SECTION S — SETTLEMENT BY NETTING (every business)

S1. One payment a week

Each Monday’s settlement covers two things:

  • tabs raised in the previous settlement week, and
  • invoices due in the current settlement week.

Everything a business owes is added up, and so is everything it’s owed. The two are netted off, and only the difference is paid — one payment in, or one payment out.

Example. Corner Cafe Co owes $5,000 across the week’s tabs and invoices, and is owed $4,000.

Without netting it would pay $5,000 and wait for $4,000. With netting it pays $1,000.

S2. Set-off between all members

Each member agrees with WageTab, and with every other member, that its payables and receivables processed through WageTab may be set off against each other in this way, whether or not they are owed to or by the same member. Netting runs across all members, not only between the two parties to a tab or invoice.

S3. Discharge

An amount set off is discharged to that extent. Only the net remainder can be claimed.

S4. Paying, and being paid

  • If you owe: your net amount is due by the end of Monday. Pay it to WageTab’s PayID, shown under How you pay in the Ledger.
  • If you’re owed: your net amount is paid to your receiving account — PayID preferred, or a bank account — by Friday, and sooner if everyone behind it has already paid.
  • The Ledger shows both sides of every week, and every week has a weekly statement you can download.

S5. If a business doesn’t pay

A business that doesn’t pay its net amount on time goes through these steps. Each step applies to the whole business, and is confirmed by WageTab rather than triggered by a clock.

Step

When

What changes

Overdue

Unpaid after Monday

Its Employer Benefit Cards and Company Tab Card are paused: no new tabs, and no new invoices to approve. It can still accept tabs and receive invoices — that’s how the debt gets paid down. Its staff see why when they try.

Breach

Still unpaid at Friday noon

The sellers it owes aren’t paid that share this week. The unpaid amount carries forward (S6). Those sellers are told who it is.

Suspended

Still unpaid at the following Friday noon

Same limits as Breach. The business is shown as suspended to its staff and to the sellers it owes.

Removed

Decided by WageTab

It can no longer accept tabs either. It can ask to reopen by settling what it owes.

Paying in full ends Overdue straight away.

S6. Unpaid amounts are carried, not written off

  • If a business doesn’t pay its net amount, the obligations it hasn’t paid remain owed.
  • The unpaid amount is shared among the business’s own creditors — the sellers it actually owes — in proportion to what each was owed. No one who never traded with that business is affected.
  • Each creditor’s unpaid share is carried forward and settled in later weeks. Anything the business is owed in those weeks goes to its carried debt first.
  • Netting writes nothing off. A creditor keeps the claim for its unpaid share in full.
  • If WageTab removes a business, WageTab decides case by case whether Clearitt covers what it owed or whether it is written off.

S7. Payment standing

  • Every business has a payment standing, shown as a score out of five stars.
  • Paying on time keeps it up; paying late lowers it; not paying lowers it sharply. It recovers week by week with on-time payments.
  • Sellers see an employer’s standing, with its postcode and not its name, before accepting a tab from its staff.

S8. Records and tax

  • A Company Tab Card tab is the business’s own purchase. Its document is a tax invoice.
  • An Employer Benefit Card or Rewards Card tab is the card holder’s own personal purchase. Its document is a receipt.
  • The weekly statement is a statement of account, not a tax invoice. Paying it settles the tabs and invoices it covers.
  • WageTab is not the supplier in any tab or invoice. It records them and processes their settlement.
  • Exports: a BAS export of Company Tab Card tabs, and a payroll spreadsheet of each card holder’s Employer Benefit Card total per payrun.

SECTION P — OPTIONAL PAID EXTRAS (businesses that choose them)

All prices include GST. Each purchase is an invoice from Clearitt, charged in your next weekly settlement like any other payable invoice. There is no card payment. You confirm each purchase on a confirm screen before anything is charged.

P1. Boost your listing

  • Appear at the top of a postcode’s directory, in B2B or B2C.
  • $10 per week, per tab, per postcode. 10% off when four or more weeks are booked together.
  • Your own postcode or any neighbouring postcode.
  • Booking a tab you aren’t listed in also lists you there, boosted, for the weeks booked.
  • Prepaid, no refunds.

P2. Local Supporter

  • Appear in the main listings of the postcodes you support, with a Local Supporter badge.
  • $50 per month or $500 per year, per postcode.
  • Each order is a plan with its own period. Auto-renew is off unless you switch it on: with it off, the plan ends on its end date; with it on, a new invoice is raised for the same plan on that date.
  • In the week before a plan ends, the app shows whether it renews or expires.

P3. Advanced Insights

  • Fuller performance figures: comparisons, a 12-week history, where customers live and how they pay, the results of your boosts and Local Supporter plans, and suggestions.
  • $25 per month or $250 per year.
  • Auto-renews unless you switch it off. Each renewal is a new invoice from Clearitt.

P4. Rewards for your customers

  • Buy a rewards budget and give a percentage back on tabs. Each $1.00 of rewards costs $1.05.
  • You set one rate. It is given only when the customer pays with an Employer Benefit Card — not on Company Tab Card tabs.
  • Rewards go to the customer’s Rewards Card. Your budget is available to give once the invoice for it has settled, and never expires.
  • Giving pauses automatically when your budget is empty. You can also switch it off and on.

SECTION M — SELLING (businesses that accept tabs or send invoices)

M1. Accepting tabs

  • Show your counter QR code — on your phone, or printed on a sign.
  • The customer scans it and passes you their phone. You enter your PIN and the amount, which is checked against the caps that apply. You check your secret word on screen, then tap Done.
  • You may decline any tab, for any reason, before you tap Done.
  • There’s no signup fee, transaction fee, card fee or terminal.

M2. Your per-tab cap

You can set the most any customer can spend in one tab with you. It can’t be lower than $10, so a new customer’s $10 welcome credit can always be spent. Where your cap and the buyer’s caps differ, the lowest applies.

M3. Sending invoices

  • Scan the buyer’s code, from Show my QR code on their Company Invoice Card or at their counter.
  • Add the lines and the due date. The earliest due date is the Monday of next week; the default is 14 days ahead.
  • Hand the phone to the buyer to check and approve with their PIN. It’s not an invoice until it’s approved in person. Handing it over agrees to settle it through netting, under these terms.
  • An approved invoice is settled in the week it falls due (S1).

M4. Your directory page

  • Your business is listed in the WageTab directory unless you switch it off.
  • You supply what it shows: logo, keywords, whether you sell B2B, B2C or both, street address, an optional local contact and sales person, and an optional website. You’re responsible for it being accurate.

SECTION E — EMPLOYERS (businesses that give staff Employer Benefit Cards)

E1. Verify your business first

Before you can add card holders, your business must be verified, once. An owner uploads a photo ID and the business’s ABN, and WageTab checks it, usually within a business day.

E2. Adding card holders

  • Owners and admins add card holders.
  • For each, you set a cap per payrun, a cap per week and a cap per tab, and their payrun. Company-wide defaults can be set once and changed per person.
  • You confirm you’re liable for their tabs. If a card holder’s tabs come to more than you can deduct from their pay, you cover the difference. Setting conservative caps is how you manage that.
  • Caps are enforced automatically. A card holder can’t exceed them.
  • You can end a card holder’s access at any time. Tabs already raised remain payable.

E3. Settling and recovering

  • Your card holders’ tabs are part of your business’s weekly settlement (section S). Your payment is due whether or not your payroll has run yet.
  • Each payrun, the app gives you each card holder’s total, never itemised. You deduct it from their gross wage, or add it, depending on the type of benefit you’ve chosen to offer. That’s your own payroll process — WageTab never takes money from anyone’s pay.

E4. If you’re behind

While your business is Overdue or further along (S5), your staff can’t raise new tabs on their Employer Benefit Cards and see why when they try. Their Rewards Cards keep working, because that balance isn’t yours.

SECTION C — CARD HOLDERS (plain language)

What is WageTab?

WageTab lets you put everyday purchases on tab at participating businesses, instead of paying with cash or card. Whatever you buy is yours straight away. Nothing is charged to you at the time.

It isn’t a loan: no interest, no credit checks, no repayment schedule.

Your cards

  • Employer Benefit Card — given by your employer. Tabs on it are settled by your employer and recovered from your pay, or added to it, depending on the benefit they offer. It shows clearly on your payslip.
  • Rewards Card — yours, from WageTab. It holds your $10 welcome credit, any referral rewards, and rewards businesses give back on your Employer Benefit Card tabs. Use it any time, on its own. It never comes out of your pay.

Raising a tab

Select the card, scan the seller’s QR code, and pass the phone to the seller. They enter their PIN and the amount, which is checked against your caps and balances, and confirm the tab.

Rewards

  • Welcome credit: $10 on your Rewards Card when you join. If your first tab is less, you keep the rest.
  • Referrals: $10 when someone you invite is set up with their employer, or as soon as an employer you invite signs up. Invite by their mobile number; an invite lasts seven days, and the first live invite for a number wins.

Your consent

  • You agree that your employer may deduct your Employer Benefit Card spending from your pay each payrun, in a variable amount based on what you’ve actually spent — or add it, if that’s the benefit they offer.
  • It’s voluntary. You don’t have to use it, and it’s up to you each time you shop.
  • You can stop at any time — tell your employer, and they’ll end your access. This doesn’t affect pay already deducted for tabs you’ve used.

If your employer is behind

If your employer hasn’t paid its settlement, your Employer Benefit Card is paused until it does. It isn’t anything you’ve done, and your balance and history are unchanged. Your Rewards Card still works.

Your protections

  • ✓ You choose — where to shop and how much to spend, up to the caps your employer or the seller has set
  • ✓ Your own PIN — opens the app, so it’s just you
  • ✓ Full visibility — everything you’ve spent is in the app at all times
  • ✓ Privacy — your employer sees your total, never your individual purchases
